I love to write, sing and photograph the world around me. I am the second oldest of 6 children. (yes the curse of the secondborn)

I'm a very curious person and I ask a lot of questions, so be warned.

Please no chain messages!I won't reply to them.

Be nice to others :D

Please don't advertise things on my page.

Hey guys, I was asked to do a slideshow for some seniors, and one girl (Who is gorgeous) sent in her photos. The most recent professional one has a HUGE watermark.  It's in a basic looking font, that is strikingly unprofessional for such a professional photoshoot.  It is placed front and center in the image, covering over the subject's legs.

If you are a photographer shooting for someone else, PLEASE get yourself a watermark of some sort that is simple, professional, and not distracting.

I dont' have an official watermark for myself, and if I did it'd probably be the name of my business, with the letters mostly transparent, small but readable, in one of the corners.

I know art theft is a HUGE issue nowadays, I've had images from my page be saved and re-edited without my permission. It really stinks. It's such a personal way of stealing.

However, when people are paying a professional to take photos they expect high quality, not some microsoft word font with the letters almost as big as the subject's face.

Sure it might be good for getting your name out there, but the people who look at that photo may say: "Well I would hire this person, but I don't want my photos to be covered up by this lettering." (I looked on this photographer's site and I couldn't believe one picture, the watermark was on a baby picture ON the baby's face.)

Recently I've also seen a photo that has an awful maroon banner through the picture with the photographer's name.
So please, figure out a watermark that doesn't take away from the image and make your professional work look amatuer.

And if you're looking for a photographer, look at their page and consider their watermark placement. There are TONS of photographers that will take your business that have professional and, dare I say it, pretty watermarks.

Sorry for the rant. xD
